The Greek parliament votes on Sunday on a package of new austerity measures, requested by the EU the IMF in exchange for a 130-billion-euro bailout, due to be granted to Greece.
On Saturday, more than 7,000 people in Athens and Thessaloniki protested the austerity measures which include a 22-percent reduction on the minimum wage, as well as spending cuts to health, social security and defence budgets.
Also on Saturday, Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos said that the country’s possible default will «trigger economic chaos and social explosion.» Source: ITAR-TASS, AFP.
