Ukraine tries to come to agreement with Russia on cheese

The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine is looking for common with Russia approaches to examination of Ukrainian dairy products quality, Deputy Minister Oleksandr Sen has said, commenting on the situation with supply of Ukrainian cheeses to Russia.
In what concerns statements by Rospotrebnadzor chief Gennady Onishchenko about introduction of a ban for import of cheeses by some Ukrainian producers since February 7, the Deputy Minister noted that work is underway with Russia on this issue.The closure of the Russian market may lead to large problems for Ukrainian cheese producers. Besides the Russian market, Ukrainian producers actually will lose the markets of the countries, included into the Customs Union - Kazakhstan and Belarus.
