Ukrainian Prime Minister supports idea of creating grain pool with Russia, Kazakhstan
25.11.2011 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov suggested Kazakhstan returning to the idea of a tripartite Black Sea grain pool, involving Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia. He said this in Astana, where he is on an official visit, during talks with his Kazakhstan counterpart Karim Massimov.
According to him, in the case of creating this pool, exactly exporting countries, rather than grain traders, will influence pricing policy in the grain market. Azarov is convinced this association is vital, given that the three countries account for 20% of world exports. During talks in Astana Mykola Azarov also expressed Ukraines interest in the tripartite cooperation with Kazakhstan and Russia in the space industry. He considers this area a promising direction.
