Bankova to limit regulatory bodies' authority
22.11.2011 09:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Presidents Administration has developed a bill that limits the powers of supervisory authorities and aims at protecting property rights, Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Andriy Portnov said in a Ukrainian live television show.
«On the order of the head of state, legislation has been drafted to protect property rights in Ukraine. After analyzing the laws that contain such phrases as „to close a company“, „to halt operation“, „to stop“, we decided to seize these words and came to the conclusion that battalions of firefighters, troops of epidemic service and other agencies should be deprived of the right to turn a blind stroke of a pen and put an end to the operation of enterprises, if they do not like something,» Portnov said. He added that the bill makes changes to more than 70 laws, which, inter alia, envisage prohibiting economic activities for a violation only through proof of the guilt in court.
