Agrarian Fund to purchase 2008 crop 880,000 MT grains for State Food Reserve until Oct

Agrarian Fund is going to buy 2008 crop 0.881 mn MT grains until end this Sept in order to form State Food Reserve, reported Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Yaroslav Gadzalo. “Due to Ukrainian current legislation, Agrarian Fund should purchase to State Food Reserve not below 14% of Ukrainian total annual grains consumption. That is 881,000 MT. Agrarian Fund will fulfill this plan until end this Sept,” declared Gadzalo. Deputy Minister added Agrarian Fund will continue purchasing grains at least until this Nov 01. “We forecast we will remain on grains market at least until this Nov 01,” stated Gadzalo. Besides, Gadzalo made it known within this year Agrarian Fund had already purchased grains up against last year total 400,000 MT. Reportedly, as of Sept 11/08, Agrarian Fund has purchased 484,000 MT grains for State Food Reserve forming.
