Cabinet limited agrarians flood losses compensation down to UAH1,500 per ha

As to Cabinet Decree ¹ 689 (from Aug 2, 2008), Cabinet has decided to partially compensate plant-growing production actual losses as much as UAH1,500 and below per ha to Western Ukrainian agricultural companies suffered from inundation. Decree says compensation amount is to be shortened proportionally to aid amount allocated from 2008 State budget Reserve Fund (due to Cabinet Decree ¹ 1010 from Jul 28, 2008). As to Decree, in order to determine losses rate agrarians should submit applications to corresponding commissions created by District State Administrations Agricultural Development Departments. These commissions should prove data given in submitted applications, inspect damaged agricultural crops areas at spot and determine agricultural crops destruction total scale. Up to inspections results, commissions must draw up damage reports incl. losses financial amounts, with damage reports to be used as basis to make register of companies needing compensations. Registers are to be approved by Regional State Administrations which afterwards must assure losses partial compensation to agrarians at cost of subventions. As to Cabinet Decree ¹ 1010 (from Jul 28, 2008), Cabinet had allocated UAH58.5 mn from 2008 State budget Reserve Fund as losses partial compensation for agricultural companies in Volyn, Lviv, Rivne and Khmelnytskiy regions. Besides, Cabinet had also permitted agrarians not to give back UAH120 mn allocated from 2007 State budget for natural disasters losses compensation.
