Melnyk: Ukraine possible to raise grains output to 80-100 mn MT

Ukraine can boost grains annual output to 80-100 mn, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk within European Bank for reconstruction and Development Agribusiness Forum. As to Melnyk, presently Ukraine produces 30-35 mn grains anuually. Minister said Ukraine can grow grains output even without additional lands, as country agricultural lands area (41 mn ha) is quite sufficient. Besides, Melnyk made it known country agricultural gross output is planned to be raised 1,6 times up to National Purpose-Oriented Program of Ukrainian Rural Areas Development for Period till 2015. Melnyk also said Ukraine WTO joining makes it is necessary to create equal conditions for Ukrainian agricultural products shipments to EU countries markets, while not a single Ukraine stockbreeding product has been permitted to be exported to EU since 1994.
