Agrarian Committee recommends to Rada to adopt wholesale markets draft Law

VR Committee for Agrarian Policy and Land Relations has recommended to Parliament to adopt draft Law “About Wholesale Markets of Agricultural Products” as base variant, reported VR information agency Apr 16. As to report, draft Law determines organizational, legal and economic basis of agricultural products wholesale markets (as well as markets infrastructure) network forming. People Deputy Serghiy Tereshchuk (draft Law co-author) admits draft Law is targeted mainly to optimize marketing channels of agricultural products movement from producers to processing companies/other consumers as well as enhance agricultural producers competitiveness. Tereshchuk thinks creation of similar markets system (meaning at least 1 market per region) will make it possible to withdraw 20-30% of products grown by small/middle scale agricultural companies from shadow market and assure producers/consumers open trade. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, agricultural products wholesale markets draft Law had been submitted for VR consideration this year early Mar.
