EU cancelled grains import duties

As to EU official website report, EU Ministers Council for Agriculture has approved European Commission proposal on canceling of duties for all kinds grains (exc. oats, buckwheat and millet) European market import. As to report, this decision is to remain effective until Jul 30, 2008. As to website, EU imported grains need is much up due to this year crop failure. As to report, EU small grained crops/maize market situation remains difficult; this market available reserves have shortened to critical 0.5 mn MT. As to Eurostat, in Jul 2007/08 financial year EU countries total grains reserves were 13.2 mn MT (down as of Jul 2006/07), due to 2007 unfavorable weather conditions having had caused grains crop fall to 256 mn MT, down 10 mn MT against 2006.
