Ministry of Agrarian Policy estimates 89% winter crops sown areas as good/satisfactory

As to Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Luzan briefing report, Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts have estimated condition of 89% winter crops (sown for 2008 crop) as good/satisfactory. As to Luzan, 61% sown areas have been estimated as good (28% – satisfactory). Deputy Minister made it known total winter crops (winter grains/green feeds) sown areas are 7.8 mn ha (incl. winter grains – 7.7 mn ha). Luzan said this year agrarians had sown winter grains at areas 1 mn ha up against last year; this year winter rape had been sown at 1.4 mn ha, up ≈ 2 times against last year. As to Lusan, current weather conditions are favorable for winter crops state improving. As to him, nowadays all Ukrainian regions weather is favorable for winter crops development except for some eastern areas (wherein weather conditions aren’t much appropriate due to moisture lack).
