Yanukovych to prohibit sunseeds export until domestic market prices stabilization

While opening Cabinet Wed meeting, Ukrainian Premier Viktor Yanukovych declared he was for prohibition of sunseeds export until country domestic market prices conjuncture getting stabilized. “Let’s adopt decision we have agreed upon, – that is, let us close sunseeds export tightly,” said Premier. Yanukovych is convinced current difficulties are motivated with traders abuses. “Are there any real reasons motivating sunseeds prices having grown not by some per cent, yet by many times ?” asked Premier. Premier has urged Cabinet economic/agrarian blocks to make proposals for sunseeds prices conjuncture most quick settlement. Yanukovych said on Oct 23 he had listened to Oleksiy Kostusiev (Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee Chairman) report, yet he wasn’t satisfied with it. “Kostusiev had reported to me yesterday, but he didn’t, as it is used to say, impress me with his report,” admitted Yanukovych. While speaking on Cabinet meeting, Minister of Economics Anatoliy Kinakh said sunoil market prices conjuncture has slightly bettered within last week. “Prices conjuncture has changed due to Government work. There are positive results,” admitted Kinakh. Reportedly, on Oct 12, 2007 Government had cancelled sunoil export quoting, but declared intention to raise sunseeds minimally acceptable export indicative prices.
