Cabinet to prolong give-and-take meat import ban until 2008
27.08.2007 08:33 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Cabinet is going to prolong currently effective give-and-take meat import ban until Dec 31, 2007, reported Petro Verbytskiy, Deputy Ministry of Agrarian Policy, on briefing.
As to Verbytskiy, Cabinet is likely to issue corresponding Decree end Aug.
Deputy Minister made it known some companies now have legal proceedings with authorities on give-and-take meat import ban as they consider Cabinet decision is interference into private business activity.
However, Verbytskiy said, meat/meat resources importing companies are breaching legislation as they don’t ship out from Ukraine ready products made from imported resources.
As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had elaborated draft Decree “About Prolonging of Validity of Cabinet Decree from Apr 13, 2007 “About Temporary Ban on Import of Some Kinds of Give-And-Take Resources to Ukrainian Customs Territory” until Dec 31, 2007.”
As to Agro Perspective, Cabinet had introduced temporary restriction (to be effective until Sept 1, 2007) on import into Ukrainian customs territory of meat resources intended to be used in further give-and-take basis resources operations.
