Farmers of Ternopil regions harvest 852,000 tons of grain 2007

As of August 7, farmers of the Ternopil region have harvested 852,200 tons of early grain and leguminous crops, according to the press service of the Ternopil region state administration.
In particular, farmers have harvested grain and leguminous crops from 90% of areas, which is 327,600 ha.
Average grain yield is 26 metric centners/ha.
Farmers of the region have also harvested winter wheat from 94% of areas, spring barley from 92% and accomplished harvesting of winter barley.
As to Agro Perspectiva earlier report, by July 27 farmers of the Ternopil region have harvested 26,900 tons of early grain and leguminous crops from 65% of areas.
According to the State’s Statistic Committee, last year farmers harvested 458,000 tons of wheat (spring and winter) from 198,800 ha, and 244,800 tons of barley (spring and winter) from 119,000 ha.
