June grains export up 133%, to 1.2 million tons

In June, export of grain crops went up 133% or 707,000 tons to 1,238 tons on May 2007, reported Agrarika Ltd referring to Jun foods export-import provisional data. This June grain export surged by 31.9% or 300,000 tons on June 2006. In June companies activated grain sale in the external markets as the government lifted all restrictions regarding export of wheat. In May export of grain totaled 531,000 MT. As to Agro Perspectiva, April wheat export has strengthened to 1,101,100 tons against March. In 2005/2006 MY (July 2006/June 2006) wheat export rose by 20% to 13.3 million tons against 2004-2005 MY.
