Ports grains reserves estimated 900,000 MT

Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts estimate Ukrainian ports elevators total grains reserves as much as 900,000 MT, reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service referring to companies ports warehouses inspection results. As to report, inspection proved 300,000 MT grains condition was critical. As to press-service, Ministry experts have inspected in total 24 port warehouses, incl.19 certified. 19 certified warehouses contained 837,000 MT grains (incl. wheat 227,000 MT, barley 586,000 MT and maize 23,000 MT); non-certified grains contained 28,000 MT grains. It is to be reminded, exporting companies ask authorities to release grains export to prevent grains (part of which is in unsatisfactory condition) losses. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, 2006/07 Ukrainian grains export has been restricted with grains export quotas, resulting in much grain having got accumulated in ports. As to Agro Perspective, country ports elevators facilitations are not adapted for grains long-term storage.
