Ministry of Agrarian Policy hopes rape annual output will boost to 3.8 mn MT until 2015

As to draft Program of Ukrainian Rural Areas Socioeconomic Development until 2015 (promulgated on Ministry of Agrarian Policy official website), Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects country agrarians will raise rape yearly production up to 3.8 mn MT till 2015. Ministry experts believe rape production will be liquid within next few years. Ministry will support rape cultivation/production in order to stimulate country biodiesel output. It is to be reminded, Cabinet had adopted National Program of Diesel Biofuel Production Development stipulating 2008 rape crop to be not below 3.6 mn MT (2009 6.6 mn MT, 2010 7.5 mn MT). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of Aug 30, 2006 agricultural companies had harvested 606,000 MT rape. As to State Statistics Committee, in 2005 agrarians had produced in total 284,700 MT rape (with yielding capacity equaling to 14,6 metric centners per ha); rape was harvested at 195,180 ha. 2005 winter rape crop totaled 198,400 MT (rape was harvested at 116,500 ha); 2005 spring rape crop was 86,400 MT (harvested at 78,700 ha). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Ministry of Agrarian Policy had elaborated draft Program of Ukrainian Rural Areas Socioeconomic Development until 2015. As to Agro Perspective, earlier Cabinet had approved concept of Ukrainian 20062010 rural areas development support complex program. End 2005 President Viktor Yushchenko had commissioned Cabinet to elaborate Ukrainian rural areas development support complex program, with corresponding draft Law to be presented for Verkhovna Rada examinaton.
