Yushchenko vetoed taxation changes Law

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has returned to Verkhovna Rada Law «About Bringing Changes into some Legislative Acts on Taxation,» having provided it with his amendments, reported President press-service. As to press-service, Nov 17 VR had adopted this Law with taxation innovations (including, in part., system of reduced tax stimuli for Special Economic Zones (SEZ)/Priority Development Territories (PDT) entities) proposed by Cabinet on eve of 2007 State Budget approval. Press-service says this Law (consisting of norms initially included in 2007 State Budget draft Law) had been voted for by 245 people deputies. Amendments made by President stipulate next year 5% concessional taxation introduction for dividends received by natural persons as well as exemption of joint investments institutes and holding companies from income tax advance installment payments (which stipulated, in part., malt beer excise duty rise from UAH0,27 up to UAH0,31 per liter and blend petrols privileged excise duty growth from EUR30,0 up to EUR42,0 per 1,000 kg). Besides, President has as well criticized adopted Law for its dividends concessional taxation regulations: he said within 2005 dividends payments had reached UAH1.7 milliard, with 151 persons having had received over UAH1 mn each.
