Jan-Jul agrarians wheat sales up 9.8%, to 2.8 mn MT

As to State Statistics Committee, within Jan-Jul 2006 agricultural companies of all kinds ownership (except small-scale) have boosted wheat sales to 2,794.725 MT, up 249,028 MT (+ 9.8%) against 2005 similar. As for wheat sales structure, agricultural companies have sold 4.6% total wheat to processors; 2.3% total wheat were given to population (incl. public catering system) on account of salaries; 2.8% to shareholders on account of land plots/property shares rental payment. 12.6% total wheat were sold on markets and in shops (stalls, booths, etc); 77.7% through other trade channels. As earlier reported, within 2006 first 6 months agricultural companies had grown wheat sales to 1,911.645 MT, up 329,860 MT (+ 20.9%) against 2005 similar. Earlier Ministry of Agrarian Policy had forecasted 2006 food wheat crop will be not below 60% total wheat crop. 2005 wheat crop had grown to 18.699 mn MT, up 6.7% (in terms of weight after additional processing) against 2004, with wheat average yield equaling to 28,5 metric centners per ha (down against 31,7 metric centners per ha in 2004). Within 2005 wheat was harvested at total 6,571.000 ha (up as of 5,533.700 ha in 2004). 2005 winter wheat crop equaled to 17.683 mn MT (spring wheat 1.016 mn MT). 2005 grain crop totaled 38.015 mn MT (down against 41.808 mn MT in 2004).
