Ukrainian 2018/2019 MY sugar export down 27%

Ukrainian 2018/2019 MY (marketing year, Sept 2018-Aug 2019) sugar export declined to 409,800 tons, down 144,300 tons or about 27% against 2017/2018 MY similar (564,000 tons), Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers reports.
As to the report, within 2018/19 MY, the Ukrainian sugar exporters have somewhat changed their export sales’ destinations.
Thus, within 2018/19 MY, the leader of the Ukrainian sugar purchases was Uzbekistan, as earlier; however, Uzbekistan has significantly declined the Ukrainian sugar purchase lots (from 210,000 tons (as of 2017/18 MY) to just 96,000 tons). Within 2018/19 MY, Azerbajan has become the second biggest purchaser thus, Azerbajan has purchased 74,000 tons Ukrainian sugar, up against 43,000 tons (2017/18 MY, third place). Within 2018/19 MY, Tajikistan has become the third biggest purchaser 36,000 tons, up against 16,000 tons as of 2017/18 MY).
As to experts, Uzbekistan has much declined the Ukrainian sugar purchases due to the Uzbekistan foreign trade taxation policy changes and big logistics’ problems.
