Belarus 2019 grains crop to total 7.6 million tons
05.07.2019 23:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to Tatiana Karbanovich, Main Plant Growing Department Deputy Chief of the Belarus Ministry of Agriculture and Foods, this year Belarus grains’ gross crop is expected to reach 7.6 million tons, BelTA reports.
«As to the oprative data, the expected gross grains’ crop will be about 7.6 million tons,» Karbanovich said.
As to her, weather conditions for the agricultural plants’ growth/development have been unfavorable within this year spring/summer.
«The lack of precipitation together with elevated temperature regime have caused an intense loss of soil moisture, especially within the country southern regions. Besides, by end Jun, there were heavy rains with squally wind, resulting in grains’ partial lodging and damage within a number of the country regions,» Karbanovich explained.
As to her, the weather affected the grains at total 213,000 ha (destroyed - about 70,000 ha).
