UNICEF: Vaccines are safe and save lives

As usual, within the Apr last week, the WHO celebrates the World Immunization Week,
UN Radio reports.
It is to be admitted, the World Immunization Week aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. Immunization saves millions of lives every year and is widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful and cost-effective health interventions. Yet, there are still nearly 20 million unvaccinated and under-vaccinated children in the world today.
It is to be admitted, the World Immunization Week is to last within this year Apr 2430.
In meanwhile, due to a worldwide surge of outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced a new social media global campaign that is, launching of the hashtag #VaccinesWork for the World Immunization Week.
«We want the awareness that #VaccinesWork, to go viral,» said Robin Nandy, UNICEF Immunization Chief, admitted. «This campaign is an opportunity to show the world that social media can be a powerful force for change and provide parents with trustworthy information on vaccines,» he added.
It is to be admitted, the World Immunization Week is, in its turn, a part of a global, week-long celebration campaign Protected Together: Vaccines Work, launched by the WHO to honour so-called Vaccine Heroes from parents and community members, to health workers and innovators.
