Within Jan-Nov 2018, the trade turnover of agricultural/food products between Ukraine and the EU countries has grown to US$8.01 milliard, up US$778.6 million against Jan-Nov 2017, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food says referring to Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva report.
As to the report, within Jan-Nov 2018, Ukrainian agricultural/food products export to EU has grown to US$5.6 milliard, up US$362.3 million against Jan-Nov 2017.
«Despite the slowdown in the growth rates of Ukrainian agricultural and food exports to the EU markets this year, we are sure that further reduction of trade barriers between Ukraine and the EU will have a positive effect on both sides, and more and more Ukrainian exporters will enter the EU markets with their own products,» Trofimtseva said.
«A Free Trade Agreement, signed between Ukraine and the European Union, brings positive results for both sides. This is evidenced by the indicators of the agricultural products’ bilateral trade, which are rising gradually but steadily. Thus, within Jan-Nov 2018, the trade turnover of agricultural/food products between Ukraine and the EU countries has exceeded US$8 milliard, having boosted almost 11% against 2017 similar,» she stressed.
As to her, within last few years, the Ukrainian top-5 trade partners among the EU countries are: the Netherlands (which has imported within Jan-Nov 2018 the Ukrainian agricultural products for US$995.3 million), Poland - US$602.1 million, Germany - US$584.2 million, Spain -
US$882.6 million and Italy - US$669.5 million.
«It is to be admitted, there are 5 agricultural products which have assured the Ukrainian total agricultural products’ export growth within 2018: maize, fennel/rape seeds, poultry meat and edible byproducts, wheat, dried leguminous crops,» Trofimtseva noted.
