Tatarstan sugar output down 20,000 tons
09.01.2019 22:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Since 2018/19 MY beginning, Tatarstan (RF) sugar plants (Zayinskiy, Buyinskiy and Nurlatskiy) have produced in total 259,000 tons sugar (down 20,000 tons against 2017/18 MY), Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers reports.
It is to be admitted, the sugar plants have reduced their sugar output on purpose: thus, as of 2017, RF total sugar output became excessive what in turn resulted in the RF domestic market sugar wholesale prices having had fallen down to maximum low. So, as of 2018, all RF sugar beets’ producers (incl. Tatarstan) have somewhat shortened their sugar beets’ sown areas.
As to the report, Tatarstan 2018 sugar beets’ crop has declined to about 2.1 million tons (down against 3 million tons as of 2018).
