Agrarian Ministry: organic leguminous crops growing is attractive for agrarians

As of this week, while speaking within the International Field Day «Organic Leguminous Crops - World Trend» festivities (held within Vinnytsia region), the Ukrainian Deputy Ministrer of Agrarian Policy and Food Viktor Sheremeta has said now within the segment of the domestic organic products’ output the leguminous crops’ cultivation is the most investment attractive and potentially profitable direction for small-scale farmers, Ukrinform says referring to Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food report.
«Organic products’ output is one of the State policy priority direction and a promising business for the small-scale farming. At same time, within the organic products’ output segment, the leguminous crops’ cultivation is the most investment attractive,» he said.
As to him, the agrarians can make use of the State support, one of the priorities of which is the organic products’ output.
«Now there is a high global demand for organic leguminous crops, in part., within Europe. So, domestic small-scale farmers, who will focus on these products, is sure to receive additional opportunities for their profits’ boost,» Sheremeta admitted.
The Deputy Minister added that now, within the framework of the domestic agrarians’ State support, there is a number of programs - such as cheap loans, 80% compensation for seeds, equipment cost cheapening, and others.
