The Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has retained its forecast for this year country grains crop within the format of «60 million tons +», despite the fact that some areas within the country south and east remain with no precipitation, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to Maxym Martyniuk, Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, report.
It is to be admitted, Ukrainian 2017 grains crop also totaled 60 million tons.
As to the report, since this year early Apr, there were some cases of drought on the Ukrainian terrotiry, but this year Jun precipitation have stabilized the situation and led most areas out of the risk zone.
«Due to the fact that the rains have already begun, we expect that this year the early and late grains’ gross crop will be about same as of last year,» Martyniuk admits.
As to him, successful wintering of winter grains and soil sufficient moisture have positively influenced the country harvesting campaign beginning, so there is no fear of the grains crop significant decline.
As to the earlier report, as of this year Jun 18, Ukraine had already harvested 10,500 tons winter wheat.
