Ukrainian Feb 2018 sugar export down about twice

As of Feb 2018, Ukrainian sugar export has fallen to 40,900 tons, down 47% against Jan 2018, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to Ukrsugar Analytical Department Head Ruslana Butylo report.
«Upon whole, our foreign trade has weakened due to unfavorable conditions: global low prices and global surpluses. Thus, our export has s dropped almost twofold. As of this year Feb, our biigest purchasers were Uzbekistan (24% total), the United Kingdom (16%) , Sri Lanka (12%) and Switzerland (12%),» Butylo told.
As to her, Ukrainian 20172018 MY (marketing year, Sept 2017 - Feb 2018) sugar export has declined to 290,900 tons, down 44% against 20162017 MY.
As to the earlier report, Ukrainian 20172018 MY sugar output has grown to 2.14 million tons, up 6.5% against 20162017 MY. As of 20172018 MY, 46 sugar plants were functioning within Ukraine.
In meanwhile, Ukrsugar experts forecast within 2018 Ukrainian sugar sown areas will total 296,000 ha.
