Ukraine harvests over 43 mln tonnes of grains

11.10.2017 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this year Oct 9, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 43.457 mln tonnes of grains at the area of 11.247 mln ha (77% of the total planned). The average yield is 3.86 t/ha, UNIAN says referring to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. As to the report, agrarians harvested 168,000 tonnes buckwheat at 150,000 ha (82%), average yield — 1.12 t/ha. Besides, agrarians also harvested 74,000 tonnes of millet at 51,000 ha (91%), average yield — 1.45 t/ha. It is to be admitted, Ukrainian agrarians continue harvesting maize for grain: thus, as of this year Oct 9, agrarians already harvested 5.548 mln tonnes maize; the harvested areas reached 1.307 mln ha (29%), average yield — 4.25 t/ha. In addition, agrarians harvested 9.174 mln tonnes of sunseeds at 4.795 mln ha (81%), with the average yield being 1.91 t/ha. Besides, agrarians have also harvested 2.195 mln tonnes soybeans (average yield — 1.81 t/ha, harvested areas — 1.211 mln ha (61%).
