Japanese NHK team within Belarus to make TV program about Belarus post-Chernobyl recovery

As of this week, while speaking within a meeting with Head of the Chernobyl Department at the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Dmitry Rutkovsky, Japan Broadcasting Corporation representative Mayu Asano has said the Japan Broadcasting Corporation is working on a TV program about Belarus experience within restoring and rehabilitating Chernobyl-affected territories, Belarus Radio says referring to BelTA report.
It is to be admitted, Mayu Asano is the Director of this TV program.
«We came to Belarus to see the state of things 31 years after the Chernobyl accident. We would like to know how Belarus got back to regular life and find the hints that would help us cope with the problems and anxiety,» Asano admitted.
She added that the range of points of interest is quite wide, from radiation protection to Belarus’ experience in overcoming psychological barriers and the stereotypes of radiophobia.
«This project helps Belarusians and Japanese to communicate, identify common problems, and learn how to deal with them,» the Director noted.
