UN Chief "encouraged" by Colombia commitment to peace

As of yesterday, while speaking on the margins of a UN conference in Quito (Ecuador) focused on sustainable urbanization and city-building (also known as UN Habitat III), UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he «remained encouraged» by the commitment to peace reiterated by all parties to the Colombian peace process, UN Radio reports.
It is to be admitted, Ecuador has also agreed to host talks between the Government of Colombia and the country second-largest rebel group, the National Liberation Army or ELN, planned to take place as of this year Oct 27.
As to the report, Ban also met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on the sidelines of the UN event to discuss the peace process in Colombia.
