UNHCR: Over half of all school-age refugees are denied education
16.09.2016 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of now, over half of all refugee children worldwide simply have no school to go to, UN Radio says referring to the
UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) report.
As to the report, that amounts to 3.7 million children out of 6 million that UNHCR is going to help.
In meanwhile, UNHCR Chief, Filippo Grandi, says that «this represents a crisis for millions of refugee children» and that they are five times more likely to be out of school than the global average.
Thus, the UNCHR is calling on all governments, donors, humanitarian agencies and other partners, to strengthen their commitment in the face of the education crisis.
