15.08.2016 19:51 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The EU Delegation to Ukraine says it is concerned by the incomplete launch of the e-asset declaration system in Ukraine, UNIAN says referring to the EU Delegation Facebook today report.
«We are very disappointed and concerned by the incomplete launch of the electronic asset declaration system by the NAPC [National Agency for Prevention of Corruption] last night, without the necessary certification,» the report runs.
«An e-electronic system needs to be certified in order to ensure criminal liability for making false statements. This is essential for making such a system work and contribute to combating corruption, in accordance with Ukraines commitments to the EU and to the international community,» the report says.
«From what we understand, there are no substantive reason for withholding the certification. The certification should be provided without further delay,» the EU Delegation stresses.
As to the earlier report, the system was launched at 00:00 local time today, Aug 15. However, the system works in a trial mode without the certification. The software of the e-declaration system should have been certified by the Ukrainian State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection.
However, the agency claims that the software has drawbacks.
