Ukrainian Gov prepares social standards boost decision
07.07.2016 16:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of yesterday, following a meeting of the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman with representatives of the Ukrainian Federation of Trade Unions, the Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva said the Ukrainian Government was preparing a package of bills on the substantial reform of the payroll system that will improve social standards and financial situation of the Ukrainian people.
As to Reva, the bills together with the draft State budget for 2017 will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament).
It is to be admitted, the bills touch the issues of raising the minimum wage and payroll legalization.
«The shadow economy today makes up 40% of Ukrainian GDP, it is almost UAH200 milliard. If we legalize at least 10%, the economy will start functioning, which in turn will improve social standards of Ukrainians,» Reva said.
As to him, the tariffs’ boost has become the litmus test that in our country (due to the Social Policy Ministry data), almost 9 out of 15 million households need State assistance for housing and communal services.
Also, Reva reminded that within the same day the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman had instructed to complete, taking into account the requirements of the Ukrainian trade unions, a General tariff agreement.
«It will be completed in the near future, we will sign it, and most importantly - implement it. We and the unions have different vision on many aspects, but we are united in the fact that the results of social dialogue will have influence on improving the lives of Ukrainians,» Reva summed up.
