Having sown spring crops at 18 mn ha, agrarians finished sowing

Agricultural companies have sown spring crops at 18 mn ha/ended this year springtime field works, reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.As to press-service, as of Jun 5, agrarians have sown spring crops at 17,815.000 ha (as of now, a number of companies in some regions is possible to keep on sowing buckwheat/millet). As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of Jun 5, agrarians had sown buckwheat at 362,000 ha (of total planned 414,000 ha), millet at 147,000 ha (of total planned 221,000 ha). As of Jun 5, agricultural companies had sown maize for grain at 2,026.000 ha (total planned 2,144.000 ha), while total maize had been sown at 2,666.000 ha (89% total planned). As to press-service, sunflower sown areas appeared to be larger as of initially planned: as of Jun 5, sunflower was sown at 3,410.000 ha (108% total planned). As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy, this year spring crops sown areas are up against last year similar: as of Jun 5, 2005, spring crops had been sown at 16,551.000 ha. This year spring crops sown areas enlargement was motivated with 2005 autumn insufficient sowing. Ministry of Agrarian Policy experts admit this year springtime field works dragged out due to unfavorable weather conditions. As to State Statistics Committee data, 2005 grains sown areas totaled 15,004.800 ha; grains crop reached 38.015 mn MT. As to Committee, 2005 sugar beet sown areas totaled 652,200 ha (sugar beet crop 15.468 mn MT); 2005 sunflower sown areas were 3,742.900 ha (sunseeds crop 4.706 mn MT).
