Groisman: Populism is ruining our statehood and depriving people of opportunities to live a normal life

As of yesterday, while speaking within the Ukrainian National Council of Reforms meeting, held under the chairmanship of the President Poroshenko, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman told the Government is committed to adopt all necessary decisions in order to improve the situation within the country and will be honest with the citizens, avoiding populism, Government Portal reports.
«I’ve always said and want to reiterate: a populist and populism in general it means when people want to make everyone happy without their participation, or promise a lot and do nothing is what ruins our statehood, destroys the opportunities of people to live a normal life,» Groisman stressed.
As to him, throughout the independence years in Ukraine rather inefficient policy based on populism has been carried out, and it still remains one of the main problems of the country in complex with turmoil in the economy and security.
«We represent an absolutely different approach, I am talking on behalf of the entire Government, the entire Cabinet, our team. We will do entirely appropriate things, we will tell people the truth and we will do everything to lead the country out of the situation, in which we occurred to be today, within the powers of the Government,» Groisman emphasized.
