Ukraine: 86% of early grains sown

In Ukraine, the early grains have been sown at the area of 2.1 million ha (86% total planed), Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko yesterday report.
«The largest sown areas are in: Dnipropetrovsk region 203,800 ha (81% total planed), Zaporizhzhia region 180,200 ha (90%), Kherson region 145,800 ha (84%), Odesa region 138,200 ha (101%) and Mykolaiv region 135,000 ha (91%),» the Minister noted.
As to him, the industrial crops have also been sown, in part. sugar beets at 216,000 ha (81% total planned), sunflower at 805,000 ha (16%), maize 254,000 ha (6%) and soybeans at 34,000 ha (2%).
As to Pavlenko, the winter grains have already germinated at 7.0 million ha (or 98% of the total sown territory 7.1 million ha).
Also, as to him, presently 5.4 million ha of sown areas (77%) are in good and satisfactory condition.
«We are completing the additional fertilizing of winter grain crops. Agrarian companies of 12 regions have already finished the initial fertilizing upon the total planned areas. Thus, as of today, only 3% of the total planned areas have not been fertilized,» the Minister added.
