China, US commit to signing Paris climate deal

As of the last week, China and the United States released a joint Presidential Statement pledging to sign last years climate deal during a special ceremony at the UN in New York within this year April, UN Radio reports.
It is to be reminded, 195 countries agreed to keep global temperatures below two degrees Celsius within a historic meeting in Paris held within last year Dec.
As to the report, the two countries are the world largest emitters, accounting for 40% of global carbon emissions.
Reportedly, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed the news and seized the occasion to urge other countries to follow suit so that the Paris deal can enter into force «as early as possible».
It is to be reminded, the Paris deal will take effect when 55 countries that account for at least 55% of global emissions sign and join.
