Yatseniuk in Washington says our task is to attract as many investors as possible to develop Ukrainian economy

"Our task is to attract as many investors and American money as possible for the development of Ukrainian economy in order to create jobs, restore economic growth in Ukraine," Government Portal reports quoting the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as saying following his visit to the United States.
As to the report, Yatseniuk stressed that one of the purposes of his working visit to the U.S. was preparing for the Investment Conference to be held on Jul 13 at the bilateral level between Ukraine and the USA.
Reportedly, he underlined that official statements of the Group of Seven finance ministers, the IMF, the G7 leaders declare the support for reforms carrying out by the Government of Ukraine.
Besides, the PM highlighted the need to continue reforms particularly in the energy sector, agricultural sector, tax reform as well as combat corruption.
«There is no simple recipe and no quick solution. But I hope that if everything sticks to the schedule we have planned 2016 should be the first year of economic growth,» Yatseniuk said.
As to the report, Yatseniuk told that within his working visit to Washington he and the Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko held 30 meetings in 48 hours.
The PM said that the level of support for Ukraine expressed by the United States’ leadership during these meetings was unprecedented.
Thus, in Washington, Yatseniuk met with US Vice President Joe Biden, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew, US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Besides, there also were meetings with leaders of the US Congress, including House Speaker John Boehner, representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties.
