25.05.2015 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Germany is ready to channel EUR200 million into the Energy Efficiency Fund, which is being created in Ukraine, if the Ukrainian government develops a plan to reimburse allocated funds, UNIAN reports referring to the Ukrainian
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ghennadiy Zubko while speaking at the briefing at a forum on energy efficiency partnership in Kyiv on Fri.
«There is a particular proposal from the German government as for EUR200 million, which could be funneled in that Fund, but they need to be clearly demonstrated how these assets will be returned by the Funds consumers,» Zubko said.
As to the report, he admitted that the Ukrainian side was considering the possibility of filling up the Fund with the money to be left after the payment of subsidized compensation of households housing and utilities costs, as fewer people will apply for the subsidies every year due to the introduction of energy saving technologies and a reduction in gas consumption.
Reportedly, Zubko also said that a commercial organization had been created in Germany, which is interested and ready to invest in energy efficiency projects in Ukraine.
As to an earlier report, Ukrainian Cabinet had decided to allocate UAH1.57 milliard under energy efficiency programs, in particular, for the compensation of 2040% of the price of boilers that do not use gas, and for housing insulation.
