Ebola “fire” needs to be put out for good, warns WHO

A radical change in the way the global community reacts to health emergencies is needed if were to avoid another tragedy like Ebola, UN Radio says referring to the UN World Health Organization (WHO) today’s press briefing in Geneva.
The WHO has reminded the Ebola epidemic «is not over» in West Africa.
As to the WHO, the virus has killed over than 11,100 people mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The WHO has stressed it is crucial to improve the weak health systems in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone where theres at best only around two doctors for every 10,000 people. So far, however, the WHO says, these three west African countries have received just about half of the US$2.3 milliard funding they need.
