11.03.2015 09:18 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture and Food is working on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European standards and the introduction into Ukraine of the EU countries’ experience of small farm economies’ support, Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Volodymyr Lapa interview with the Radio Era FM.
As to the report, Lapa said the Ukrainian draft law ¹1599 (recently adopted in the first reading) stipulates the creation of the family farms. The practice of this segment had already demonstrated its efficiency in Poland and other East European countries.
«The project is targeted at transforming of the ordinary Ukrainian small-scale economies into the profitable family farms functioning up to the European standards,» Lapa admitted.
As to him, now the Ministry is elaborating a number of legislative initiatives to assure this project’s successful implementation.
«The first step is to adopt a law on local markets. It will allow small Ukrainian agricultural producers to get an access to markets with simplified controls and procedures. Thus, it is necessary to follow the EU-accepted practice and create trade outlets at the Ukrainian family farms - in this case the family farms will receive not just 10%, but all 100% of the final sale price,» Lapa emphasized.
As to him, now the Ministry is working on a new version of the law on the Ukrainian agrarians’ State support, with all above-mentioned principles to be provided.
