NSDC chaired by President made a decision to invite UN peacekeeping mission to Ukraine

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian NSDC (National Security and Defense Council) chaired by the President Petro Poroshenko made a decision to request the UN regarding the sending of the peacekeeping mission to Ukraine, which will act under the mandate of the UN Security Council, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, while opening the NSDC session, the Head of State told that this issue had already been elaborated up to his instruction. «The best format for us is the police mission of the EU. It will be the most efficient guarantor of security in the situation when the word of peace is not observed either by Russia or those who are supported by it,» Poroshenko said.
Besides, the NSDC adopted the amendments to the Law on martial law elaborated up to the instruction of the President. These amendments take into account the experience and peculiarities of the hybrid war. The President hopes that the NSDC and the Parliament will support those amendments. «We have to be ready to defend the state,» Poroshenko noted.
As to the report, the National Security and Defense Council also decided to establish a military office at the NSDC, which is to include the leaders of the country and government’s law enforcement units.
Reportedly, within the session complex measures on the enhancement of the state security were considered. The Cabinet and the Security Service were instructed to elaborate new provisions on the unified state system of prevention and reaction to the terrorist attacks and minimization of their consequences.
The NSDC also approved a complex of measures on building of the unified system of civil protection in the state.
Reportedly, the NSDC discussed the plan of holding multinational training on the territory of Ukraine with participation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their participation in the trainings abroad in 2015.
As to the report, the measures on the creation of proper material-technical base for treatment, rehabilitation and recreation of servicemen were approved. It goes about the transfer of healing capacities of trade unions and other recreational facilities for temporary use of the Ministry of Defense and security institutions. «Heroes of the war must have a comprehensive rehabilitation after hostilities,» the President emphasized.
The President, who had recently returned from the ATO area, informed on the successful pullback of the Ukrainian troops from Debaltseve.
