Ukrainian Ministry of Information Policy set up

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian Cabinet adopted a decree on the establishment of the Ministry of Information Policy and adoption of its activities, NRCU says referring to the Cabinet press service report.
«The key tasks of the Ministry are: countering Russias information aggression, development of the countrys information policy strategy and the concept of information security of Ukraine, coordination of the government in the communication matters and information dissemination. These tasks are envisioned in the government action program, as well as in the coalition agreement that was signed by five parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,» the press service states.
As to the report, in the near future a Public Council will also be established at the Ministry of Information. The Council will include the representatives of non-governmental organizations, media representatives, media experts, and will monitor the activities of the Ministry.
