Yatseniuk met with representatives of German business circles in Berlin

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk met with representatives of German business circles in Berlin, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the event, organized by the Eastern Committee of German Economy, was attended by the leading German industrial and financial institutions that are already doing business in Ukraine or interested in investment projects.
Reportedly, opening the event, Arseniy Yatseniuk stressed the importance of overcoming Russian aggression and getting peace in order to restore investors’ confidence.
«All are interested in peace and stability. Everyone wants to succeed, and we are seeking to create a success story in Ukraine to the mutual benefit of German and Ukrainian businesses,» he said.
The PM noted that there may be «very successful bilateral projects in the agriculture and energy sectors.» «But to achieve this, we first need to get peace in Ukraine. And its up to us the European Union, Germany (the
leader of the EU), and Ukraine whether we are ready and whether we are able to reach real peace in Ukraine. And not only in Ukraine it’s about security and stability in Europe,» he said.
Reportedly, among the main issues of discussion were the economic benefits from a free trade zone between Ukraine and the EU, a package of reforms recently passed by the Government and future plans of the Government on deregulation and improvement of the business climate.
As to the report, particular attention was paid to investment prospects in energy, including energy transportation and energy efficiency, as well as in the sector of agriculture and food industry.
