The introduction of electronic auctions in the Ukrainian public procurement system is expected to result into economizing of savings to taxpayers worth approximately 20%, Government Portal reports quoting the Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius as speaking on air of the ICTV channel on December 22.
Abromavicius admitted the bill called to amend the Law of Ukraine «On the public procurement» (regarding the improvement of a system of public and electronic procurement) had been already submitted to the Parliament.
«We have submitted the draft law on public procurement. Public procurement (worth US$10 milliard annually) is carried along a non-transparent scheme. So, we will transfer to e-procurement, which will afford to make them transparent and effective. What is the most significant, it will increase the competitiveness of the environment. The economy in this area is expected at approximately 20%,» the Minister said.
