Poroshenko: Level of Ukrainian-Polish relations has never been as high as today

As of today, at the meeting with the community of the city of Lublin, President Petro Poroshenko has noted the value of Polish experience for Ukraine in decentralization of power. President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, Poroshenko has informed on the intention to initiate the establishment of the Constitutional Commission on amendments to the Constitution in the context of decentralization of power.
Speaking of the importance of Polish experience in the local government reform, the President has underlined the necessity of immediate implementation of the same administrative model in Ukraine. «Next week I will suggest establishing the Constitutional Commission the main purpose of which will be to amend the Constitution in the context of power decentralization already in 2015,» the Head of State has informed.
Besides, Poroshenko has thanked the community of the city of Lublin for the long-term assistance to Ukraine. «I would like to express gratitude to our Polish brothers for everything they do for Ukrainians. The level of Ukrainian-Polish relations has never been as high as today,» the President has emphasized.
Reportedly, the President has also admitted one of the results of his visit to Poland had been the discussion of the opportunity for the students from Donetsk and Luhansk to study in Lublin. About 3000 Ukrainian students study in Lublin today. There are also several cultural and educational facilities for Ukrainian and Polish civic organizations.
It is to be admitted, the meeting has been organized by the local government of the city of Lublin, President of the city Adam Wasilewski, Ukrainian and Polish public activists who have been closely implementing joint civic and educational projects both in Poland and Ukraine for many years.
As to the report, the President has expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit Lublin. «Lublin is our gates to Europe. It is a symbolic city for us. Hundreds of our students study here. It will be the garrison for the international military Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade,» the President of Ukraine has noted.
In his turn, Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodship Sławomir Sosnowski has emphasized that «the visit of the Ukrainian President has given a new impetus to the Ukrainian-Polish relations and economic cooperation between the frontier regions of our states».
