EU hopes for Russia's flexibility at gas talks in Brussels

The European Union is expecting flexibility from Russia at the forthcoming talks over natural gas on October 21, NRCU says referring to Vygaudas Usackas, the Head of the EU delegation to Russia, report.
It is to be admitted, today Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission will be holding trilateral gas talks in Brussels. The previous such meeting was held in Berlin on September 26, with the three sides stipulating the main parameters of a winter plan. In particular, it was agreed that Ukraine will pay Gazprom US$3.1 million of its gas debt and buy at least 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas before the end of 2014.The parties, however, failed to agree to a debt repayment schedule.
