Poroshenko: Nobody shall obstruct holding of open democratic elections

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a broadened meeting on preparation and holding of open, transparent and democratic elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine scheduled for October 26, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, within the meeting with participation of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mykhailo Okhendovskyi and heads of security institutions, the Head of State emphasized the importance of Parliaments meeting of October 14 at which several important issues will be considered package of anti-corruption bills, bills on ensuring the election rights of citizens, including servicemen in the ATO area and the issue of the State Budget.
Petro Poroshenko says that the law enforcement bodies must prevent provocations aimed at disrupting the work of MPs and the adoption of the given laws on October 14. «We now that it is planned to carry out a series of measures that have nothing in common with democracy, freedom, protection of Ukraines interests or views of Maidan and the Revolution of Dignity. I am confident that we cannot let such mechanisms of pressure destabilize the work of the Parliament and disrupt the adoption of the key laws included in the agenda of Tuesday,» the President emphasized.
Reportedly, the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed confidence that nobody would manage to disrupt the work of the Parliament and the adoption of the key laws on struggle against corruption and holding of democratic elections. «We have no time to wait another month or two to begin fighting corruption and adopting the laws that provide for the holding of fair and transparent elections without buckwheat, bribery, but with an opportunity to choose those in whom you trust,» he said.
