Verkhovna Rada adopts at first reading government bill on principles of anti-corruption policy

The Ukrainian parliament has adopted at first reading an anti-corruption strategy for 20142017, NRCU reports.
As to the report, 256 MPs out of the total 273 registered in the parliament’s session hall on October 7 voted at first reading for a bill on the principles of anti-corruption policy in Ukraine for 20142017. MPs also supported the decision to vote for the bill as a whole at a meeting on October 14.
It is to be admitted, one of the goals of the anti-corruption strategy is to create a system in Ukraine a system on the adoption of decisions on anti-corruption policy, based on the results of analysis of reliable data on corruption and the factors that lead to it.
As to the report, the document envisages the creation of a special authorized body on fighting corruption, which will be responsible, in particular, for measures to establish and implement anti-corruption policies.
