President calls on state authorities to maximize the assistance for volunteers

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with the volunteers who provide support and assistance to the soldiers of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine involved in the counter-terrorist operation in the east, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports
In his address to the volunteers the President stressed the importance of coordination between state authorities and citizens who help the army and the restoration of peaceful life.
Besides, Poroshenko has ordered all the present at the event representatives of both central and regional authorities to establish an atmosphere of maximum support for the volunteers’ actions. «I charge all present here heads of ministries, departments and administrations: each of you should have an official responsible for the interaction with the volunteers, and volunteers must have the phone of this official, that operates around 24 hours a day, 7 days a week», emphasized the President.
The Head of State has noted that in preparation for the meeting, including on the basis of publications in social networks and the media, based on preliminary investigation conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor General, he instructed the Minister of Defense to dismiss the heads of two departments - responsible for logistical support and for tenders on the purchase of weapons.
The Head of State also ordered to exempt from rent all the family members of the counter-terrorist operation participants, stressing that «it is possible for the local budgets». «Treatment, physical rehabilitation, social adaptation and employment of the wounded soldiers who return, is also within the scope of your responsibility,» said the President, referring to the Heads of regional administrations.
Petro Poroshenko also urged not to leave alone the families of the mobilized persons. «Your responsibility is to make sure that each recruited from your region joined the army being well dressed, fed, and protected. Do not let a single person remain without personal protective equipment,» he said.
