Groisman: within a month e-government Agency will start working in Ukraine

01.07.2014 19:41 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The use of the modern information technology and the introduction of the e-government in Ukraine will make the Ukrainian authorities work effectively and openly; it will make transparent and accessible those services which the State bodies now provide the citizens with, Government Portal reports referring to the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Groisman statement made at the round table «The European model of e-government in Ukraine». The event was held at the Ministry of Regional Development with the participation of the Government officials as well as the experts from Estonia, Poland and Moldova who shared their experiences of best practices of the e-governance being implemented or have been already implemented in their countries. «The possibilities of the e-governance are very important for Ukraine today − since the old methods cannot build a new European country,» the Vice Prime Minister emphasized. He said the implementation of the e-government is to provide firstly operational feedback and constant dialogue of the authorities with people. On the other hand, the services will become transparent and open − what will lead to corruption reduction. In addition, he said, the services will become widely accessible and the citizens will have a possibility to get them remotely. Besides, Volodymyr Groisman also said the Agency, which will begin to work in full within a month, is to develop and implement a strategy for the e-government in Ukraine. He also stressed the willingness of the intenational donors to provide financial and expert assistance to Ukraine for the e-government implementation. «The issue of funding on is very extensive, because we need to build networks, create electronic products and train staff to work in this system. On the other hand, the expenses for the system will quickly pay back, because we do not have to buy paper and we can greatly reduce the officials’ number - what means significant budget savings,» the Deputy Prime Minister said.
